The woman, a UPSC aspirant, stated in her complaint that she met the accused in 2013 and subsequently developed friendship. Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered on April 6 this year under IPC sections dealing with rape and causing hurt against the man in north Delhi, a senior police officer said. He added that the matter was being investigated and no arrest made yet. In her complaint, she referred to an incident when he allegedly hurled abuses and beat her up following her eye surgery. "I started crying...He then forced himself upon me... I cried but he raped me and left. The next day, he came and started apologising. He also promised to marry me...," the FIR stated. The accused also allegedly contacted senior police officers in Madhya Pradesh who, in turn, threatened her, she claimed. The issue got viral in the social media after a passenger posted information regarding the incident. According to report the civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has tweeted to assure a probe into the matter. The Director General Civil Aviation has also sought inquiry into the incident. He handed over his resignation to President and his younger brother Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Mahinda Rajapaksa's resignation following violent clash between proRajapaska supporters and anti-government protesters which has injured over 100. The violence started when pro-government protesters attacked the ant-government protesters who had occupied entrance to the President's Office and Prime Minister's residence for nearly a month demanding the government to step down. Pro-Rajapaksa supporters met Mahinda Rajapaksa in the morning and insisted he not step down. They later armed themselves with clubs and attacked the anti-government protesters who had been in front of PM's house first and burnt the huts. Later, they marched to the main anti-government protest site near President's House and attacked the protesters there too. Main opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, who visited the site, too was attacked by pro-Rajapaksa supporters. However as the attackers who were going back in buses, public on various locations attacked them and some of them were thrown into rivers. As the violence was continuing, curfew was imposed across the entire island. Soon after, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie J. Chung, in a tweet, condemned the violence in Colombo. MEDININAGAR: A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four persons in Jharkhand's Palamu district, police said on Monday. Police have identified three persons, all in the age group of 24 and 27 years, reportedly involved in the crime, the fourth one is still to be identified. Lesliganj Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Alok Kumar Tuti told PTI, "Out of the three identified accused, one has been arrested on Monday and sent to jail. Search operation for rest three is going on." Police took the action following an FIR lodged by the parents of the victim on Sunday. Family members of the victim told police that the incident took place on Saturday night when the girl, who is a student of class-4, was sleeping on the terrace of her house. Members of the house were not present at that time. Taking advantage of this, the four accused reached the terrace with help of a wooden ladder and committed the crime, according to the family members. ASIA CUP Jharkhand’s Pankaj Rajak named in Indian men’s hockey team PC JHA RANCHI: Hockey India today announced a 20-member Indian men's hockey team for the upcoming Hero Men's Asia Cup to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 23 May to 1 June 2022. Pankaj Kumar Rajak, a resident of Hazaribagh Jharkhand has been selected in this 20 member team. Pankaj Rajak is a goalkeeper and is currently in the national camp of the Indian Senior A team.Manoj Konbegi, vice president of Hockey Jharkhand said that Rajak came to Ranchi after learning hockey tricks from Hazaribagh. Pankaj was a trainee of Dey Boarding Hockey Training Center Hazaribagh. After that due to lack of training and job for senior players in Jharkhand he migrated from Jharkhand and started playing for SAIL. In 2015 also Pankaj Kumar played for Indian team in South Asian Federation (SAF) game. MI NEWS SERVICE RANCHI: The Chief Minister's Employment Generation Scheme has led to a threefold increase in selfemployment assistance to youth in the last two and a half years. The government stated that during the year 20212022, as many as 1,672 youths of the scheduled tribe community were sanctioned loans out of which 1,499 got micro loans, 34 received medium-sized loans, 33 received major loans and 106 people got vehicle loans.Among 682 scheduled caste youths, 654 got micro loans, 13 medium-sized loans and three persons got major loans. A total of 1,096 micro loans, 18 mediumsized loans, 25 large loans and 41 vehicle loans were given to 1,180 backward class youths. Under this scheme, 70 youths of the differently-abled category were given loans in the micro and vehicle loan categories. Moreover, 372 needy youths from the minority category availed the benefits of the scheme.The government has disbursed an amount of Rs 59.61 crore under the scheme. It may be stated here that the scheme was suspended from 2017 to 2020. With the formation of the new Government, the plan was re-launched so that the youths could engage in self-employment and tread on the path of economic prosperity. On the other hand, under the term loan schemes approved by income growth, self- employment and national financial institutions, 44 scheduled tribe youths were provided a sum of Rs 60.15 lakh in the year 2017-18, 256 were given Rs 107.85 lakh in the year 2018-19 and 323 people were given loans of 211.76 lakh in the year 201920. In this way, an amount of 379.76 lakh was given as loan to 623 youths in the last three years.For backward classes, an amount of 4.60 lakhs was given to 15 people in 201718, 30.05 lakhs to 114 people in 2018-19 and 89.50 lakhs to 225 people in the year 201920. In this manner, an amount of 124.15 lakh was distributed among a total of 354 backward classes youths. A total of 36 differently-abled youths were also provided with the benefits of the given scheme. An amount of 251.73 lakh was disbursed among 241 youths of scheduled castes in the year 2017-18, Rs 130.17 lakh among 259 youths in 2018-19 and 229.85 lakh among 556 youths in the year 2019-20.
