ANI EC notice to Soren on mining lease case RANCHI: Election Commission of India (ECI) has sent a notice to Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren regarding the mining lease which has been allegedly allocated in the latter's name in violation of law. However, there has been no official confirmation of the development till late evening. According to sources the ECI has sought explanation on why action should not be taken against the CM in this regard. The act prima facie seems to be a violation of the section 9 ( A) of the Representation of People's Act. The CM has been asked to submit his reply by May 10. It may be stated here that a BJP delegation had met the Governor Ramesh Bais in this regard a few months back. The Governor forwarded the complaint to the ECI which in turn asked the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand to submit a status report. A newborn baby kept in the infant ward of MCH in Giridih district was munched and injured by rats, when the family members came to know about it, it was brought to Dhanbad SNMMCH for better treatment, where the doctors said that this child was bitten by rats. Mamta Devi, wife of Rajesh Singh, a resident of Jamuwa in Giridih district, was pregnant, who was admitted for delivery 4 days ago, after which on Friday, Mamta gave birth to a girl who was having trouble breathing, which was taken to MCH for better treatment. The infant was kept in the ward but on the early morning of Monday, the nurse informed the family of the girl that the child had developed jaundice. After getting the information, when the family went to the child's ward, the nurse wrapped the child with a cloth and handed it over. When the family went to Dhanbad SNMMCH with the child for better treatment than the doctor said that child is bitten by a mouse. After which the relatives have demanded action against accusing the hospital manager of negligence. Civil Surgeon Dr Shiv Prasad Mishra while accepting the incident said that those who are responsible in this incident will not be spared, action will definitely be taken against them. After getting information about the incident, political parties reached the hospital and condemned the incident. JMM District President Sanjay Singh and Congress District President reached the hospital and reprimanded the CS saying that eight crore rupees are paid every month in the outsourcing item, even after this, being so careless is the fault of the hospital management. CPIML leader Rajesh Sinha said that a rat nibbled on a newborn child in the hospital, which was the negligence of the department. GERMANY, INDIA EXPRESS CONCERN OVER HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN UKRAINE BERLIN: Germany and India expressed their serious concern about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, said the joint statement after the 6th InterGovernmental Consultations between the two countries. "They unequivocally condemned civilian deaths in Ukraine. They reiterated the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities. They emphasised that the contemporary global order has been built on the UN Charter, international law and respect for sovereignty and the territorial integrity of states," the joint statement stated after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz addressed a joint press conference in Berlin. They discussed the destabilizing effect of the conflict in Ukraine and its broader regional and global implications.
