In a circular issued by DGCA, it said that the competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 23.59 hrs IST of February 28, 2022. It further reads this restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA. Family of newborn thanks Abhishek Banerjee for helping in surgery MI NEWS SERVICE KOLKATA: After just a phone call, Trinamool Congress's Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee took the responsibility of treating a newborn after hearing about the family's plea on the child's heart ailment. The baby is currently recovering from an expensive and complicated heart surgery. The child's grandfather thanked the MP on Facebook for saving the life of the youngest member of the family. He wrote, The adage "people for people, has lived up to its reputation." According to the family sources of the child, the surgery took place on Tuesday. A team of seven doctors performed the complex operation. Renowned physician Devi Shetty oversaw the whole process in a WhatsApp call. For the time being, he has been kept under observation for 48 hours. Although heart surgery is usually expensive, it is reported that the family has not been able to afford it. Informed sources say that the minimum cost of this treatment in a private hospital is 10 lakh rupees. MP Abhishek Banerjee has borne the entire cost.
