The bodies were found on Saturday evening from the waterfall with the help of divers, they said. "It is very deep and anyone can get trapped," the diver said. At first, the three friends planned to visit Kakolat falls in Nawada, but they were not allowed by the police to go there due to the COVIDrelated restrictions, their family said. They then searched on Google for other nearby waterfalls and got to know about Brindaha in Gajhandi, around 80 km away. CM, ministers praise Governor’s tenure SANJAY SAHAY RANCHI: Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren on Sunday hosted a farewell function for the outgoing Governor Droupadi Mumru at his residence. State assembly speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto and several cabinet ministers attended the function. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the Governor’s tenure was exemplary while pointing out that she was the head of the state for over six years, which was the longest since the formation of Jharkhand. The CM pointed out that the Governor adopted a simple approach to resolving several problems. He said that every section of society has an affinity towards her. Her method to establish direct communication with various sections of society was praiseworthy. Soren stated that the Governor united people of all classes and tried for the betterment and development of the Dalits, poor and backward people. NEW DELHI: India's Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has reviewed the implementation of the new IT rules and said that these norms will ensure safer and responsible social media ecosystem in India. Taking to the India-made micro-blogging platform Koo, he said that he reviewed the implementation and compliance of the new guidelines along with the Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar. "Reviewed the implementation and compliance of Information Technology Rules, 2021, along with my colleague Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar Ji. These guidelines are empowering and protecting users and will ensure a safer and responsible social media ecosystem in India," he said. Just after assuming charge of the ministry, Vaishnaw on Thursday said that everyone has to follow the law of the country. The minister has taken charge of the ministry at a time when the government and the US-headquartered micro-blogging platform Twitter seemed to be at loggerheads over the new norms, with the previous IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad publicly blaming Twitter of flouting norms. The Delhi High Court on Thursday said that there is no interim protection for Twitter and the Centre is free to take any action if the micro-blogging site breaches the new IT rules. Twitter has lost the intermediary status in the country. NEW DELHI: Twitter has named Vinay Prakash as its Resident Grievance Officer for India, according to the company's website. The US-based company has been in the eye of a storm over its alleged failure to comply with the new IT rules in India, which mandates, among other requirements, the appointment of three key personnel -- chief compliance officer, nodal officer and grievance officer by social media platforms with over 50 lakh users. Micro-blogging platform Twitter filed its first grievance redressal report as required under under India's new IT norms, wherein the company said that it has suspended 22,564 accounts for "child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity" and "promotion of terrorism". It also said that it has acted against 133 posts over several reasons including harassment and privacy infringement. The data pertains to the period of May 26, 2021 to June 25, 2021 that included content on Twitter.
