AT A GLANCE SANJAY SAHAY RANCHI: The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA ) meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren has decided to extend the health safety week till 6 AM on June 17. The government has, however, relaxed the norms for all districts barring the East Singhbhum. The state government has decided that all shops in the state, except East Singhbhum where the number of cases is still high, would remain open till 4 PM. Shops for clothes, shoes, cosmetics and jewellery would be closed in the East Singhbhum district. All the government and the private offices would function till 4 PM at onethird of their capacity. All shops including grocery and vegetables would be closed from 4 PM on Saturday to 6 AM Monday. The establishment related to health services would be open. The government has now given permission for takeaway apart from home delivery from the restaurants. The shopping malls, cinema halls, multiplexes, department stores, stadiums, gymnasiums, swimming pools, parks and educational institutions would be closed while all the examinations would be postponed. The Anganwadi centres would be closed but people would be provided food materials door to door. The gathering of five or more people at a spot would be prohibited. SCIENCE & FACTS PAGE 8 Govt nod for construction of 3.61L houses under PMAY-U NEW DELHI: The Central government on Wednesday gave approval to 708 proposals for construction of 3.61 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U)-- another move with the objective of providing pucca houses to all eligible beneficiaries of Urban India by 2022 with the vision of 'Housing for All'. The decision was taken at the 54th Meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under PMAY-U held here. The meeting was attended by 13 states and the Union Territories (UTs). This was the first CSMC meeting during the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. These houses are proposed to be constructed across beneficiary led construction and affordable housing in partnership verticals. With this, as on date, the total number of sanctioned houses under PMAY(U) is now 112.4 lakh and so far, 82.5 lakh have been grounded for construction of which 48.31 lakhs have been completed and delivered. Total investment under the mission is Rs 7.35 lakh crore, which has Central assistance of Rs 1.81 lakh crore of which Rs 96,067 crore of funds have been released. CBI books Avantha Realty, Gautam Thapar in Yes Bank fraud case NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against industrialist Gautam Thapar of Avantha Realty and Oyster Buildwell Pvt Ltd among several others for allegedly cheating Yes Bank to the tune of Rs 466 crore. The CBI officials said that the agency sleuths were also carrying out searches at 14 locations including at Delhi NCR, Lucknow, Secunderabad and Kolkata which has led to the recovery of incriminating documents and digital evidence.
